In the end great book lists truly come down to category. A book can be a real work of art but if it's in a category that you do not delight in reading, it's going to be boring.

Robb's futuristic Eve Dallas series and the violence can be as ruthless as a hard-boiled Robert Crais novel. There are elements of humor that advise us these are dreams, and all in all I find these books are a satisfying and fast read. The series begins with Dead Until Dark, composed in 2001, and there are now about a dozen books. I saw just among the HBO reveals True Blood, which is based on the series, and chose I like the books more.
